COMPANY INFORMATION

"BYOF Studios" is a small video game development studio founded by Raoul Nanavati and Surojit Roy in Mumbai (India).

 

For years the duo used to build casual games for planes, but now they have assembled a small team dedicated to spreading happiness through beautiful casual experiences on both iOS & Android platform.

'BYOF Studios' was mainly made up of 4 members, I became the 5th addition when I joined. The studio did not have any in-house artists and would outsource all the required artwork for games from an art studio located in the Philippines.

 

Before my join date, BYOF Studios had already released 3 titles on both the iOS & Android platform stores. Chronologically, "The Hardest Emoji Game Ever", "Discover O" and "Bluff Party - Online Multiplayer Card Game".

 

Raoul & Surojit were ready to start working on a new game which would not only be fun to play but would also contribute to a good cause. The programmer 'Digvijay' had already created a very first rough prototype of the game with the few game mechanics implemented and soon the game was named "Boop the Snoot". From that stage onwards I and Digvijay were assigned to handle the development of the game until the end. My role as a video game designer was to make sure that the game looks, feels and plays better with the help of Digvijay. 

 

The most important task was to maintain a consistent communication with the artists situated in the Philippines. Provide them with the art direction and retrieve quality assets required for the game. And then integrate the finalized art assets in the game engine (Unity 2D).

 

 

'BOOP THE SNOOT' THE GAME I WORKED ON

  • "Boop The Snoot" is the casual mobile game. (iOS & Android)

  • Test your reflexes and release your finger from the screen when the hand is perfectly on the pet's snoot to Boop!

 

  • Boop the snoots as much as possible in the game and help contribute to animal welfare in real life.

  • The earned revenue from the game will be split and given to the animal welfare in India.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage tasks with the help of Trello

- Game Balancing

- Mechanics Tuning

- Art Direction & UI / UX

- Remotely manage Art Team located in the Philippines

- Integrate Art Assets & Animation Tuning (in Unity 2D)

- Conceptualize and propose Video Game Ideas

- Create Visual Mockups for game prototypes
